Cateura, Paraguay is a small city, it is regarded as one of the poorest slums in Latin America that built on a massive garbage dump. Many residents live among the garbage, they pick through waste that can be used or sold. Prospects for most of the children born in Cateura is very bleak. One day, a garbage picker named Nicolás Gómez found a piece of garbage that resembled a violin and brought it to musician Favio Chávez and made a functional violin using other objects collected from the dump. Life has been changed, these children have their own orchestra now. Here is a Video about their story - Landfill Harmonic. See more on thier Facebook or learn more on Kickstarter.
